DESCRIPTION;ENCODING=QUOTED-PRINTABLE:The Deserving Poor: Oliver Twist and the New Poor Law is a program on Charles Dickens by humanities scholar Kirsten Parkinson, Director of the Lindsay-Crane Center for Writing and Literature at Hiram College.  Professor Parkinson will give a presentation examining England’s New Poor Law in relation to the Dickens novel Oliver Twist.  The presentation will be followed by a Q&A discussion lead by Prof. Parkinson.=0D=0A=0D=0AThis program coincides with "A Dickens of a Summer" presented by Rabbit Run Theater.  As an added benefit, all participants in the reading program receive two Rabbit Run show tickets to the production corresponding to the book in the series.  Registration is required to receive Rabbit Run Theater show tickets.  Please include an e-mail in order to receive ticket voucher.   =0D=0A=0D=0AA Dickens of a Summer is made possible in part through a grant by the Ohio Humanities Council.  The OHC is a 501 (c) (3) organization funded by the National Endowment for the Humanities and private contributions.
